About Kaitlyn
I am a passionate pianist with over 9 years of experience, both as a performer and a composer. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Piano Studies, which gave me a strong foundation in technique, theory, and musical expression. Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching students at all levels—from complete beginners to advanced musicians preparing for performances and exams.
My teaching philosophy is that music is a lifelong journey, and I aim to inspire my students to embrace it fully. I focus not only on technical skills but also on creativity, expression, and confidence at the keyboard. I enjoy exploring multiple genres with my students, including classical, jazz, pop, soul, R&B, and funk, helping them discover their personal style.
In my lessons, I incorporate sight-reading, improvisation, and modern tools like virtual piano apps and metronomes to make learning engaging and effective. I carefully track progress to ensure every student feels motivated and sees their growth. Performing and composing alongside teaching allows me to bring real-world insights into every session.
I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students can experiment, learn from mistakes, and develop a genuine love for music. My goal is to help each student become not just a skilled pianist but a confident and expressive musician who enjoys their musical journey every step of the way.

Lessons are structured with clear progress tracking, so students can see their improvements over time. I guide students preparing for exams or performances, ensuring they feel confident and ready to excel.
My approach is interactive and tailored to each student’s goals. I include a variety of genres like classical, jazz, soul, pop, and R&B to keep lessons exciting. I encourage regular practice but also make learning enjoyable. Students learn not only to play notes but to express emotion through music. I provide constructive feedback while fostering motivation and perseverance.
