About Ankrita
I’m a classically trained pianist with a Bachelor of Music (Hons) degree in Piano Performance from a ABRSM UK conservatoire. This is an advanced qualification that goes far beyond Trinity Grade LTCL or even the ABRSM LRSM. I’ve spent over a decade immersed in the world of Western classical music, and I’m passionate about helping students build not just skill, but true musicality and confidence at the piano.
I take a friendly, thoughtful approach to teaching. I'm excellent at improving students' technique and bringing out their individual musicality. Whether you’re a complete beginner or preparing for advanced exams, I tailor each lesson to your unique goals and learning style. If you’re looking for someone who’s not only deeply trained but also genuinely invested in your progress, I’d love to help you grow.
I also teach young children age 5 and over and adults of all ages.

My Approach to Teaching Music:
I take a well-rounded approach to teaching music, believing that understanding the theory and the 'why' behind compositional techniques and music-making is just as important as mastering individual pieces. This approach not only helps students engage more deeply with the music but also enhances their overall musicianship.
In my lessons, I integrate:
Music Theory: Exploring the fundamental concepts behind composition and musical
Ear Training: Developing the ability to listen and identify musical elements, a crucial skill for all
Singing: No prior experience required! I encourage vocal exercises to help students connect with their music more
Music History: Understanding the context and evolution of music to enrich the learning experience.
My Qualifications & Experience
As a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), an ABRSM conservatoire in the UK, I have in-depth knowledge and experience in improving piano technique, musicality, and performance. I have worked with students of various levels, helping them refine their skills and achieve their musical goals.
Masterclasses and Exam Preparation
In addition to regular lessons, I also offer one-off masterclasses for students who are preparing for exams, performances, or specific masterclasses. These sessions are ideal for those who have a ready programme of music and want to refine their skills for an upcoming event or exam.
