About Julian
My name's Julian. I have a BSc in Astronomy and an MPhil in Numerical Analysis. During my postgrad I started tutoring both at Uni and privately - I not only seemed to have a knack of explaining complex things in accessible ways, but I actively enjoyed seeing the light bulb go on above students' heads.
I started my career as an astronomer, writing software to analyse space telescope data. Somehow, I ended up writing Video Games for a living! Game development can be pretty mathematical and use real physics too, so I felt everything was related. I eventually became a team lead and really enjoyed mentoring my juniors.
Now I'm retired but still want to pass on the benefits of my wisdom. I'm friendly, patient, literate and have a silly sense of humour if it all starts to get a bit stressful. I will champion your cause by getting to know you, shoring up any weaknesses and keeping your strengths, well, strong!
