About Sora
HI! My name is Sora, and I am an 18-year-old tutor. I have 5 years of teaching experience through Korean school volunteering, children's camps, summer camps, church camps, babysitting, tutoring, and more. I am trilingual, able to communicate in English, Korean, and Japanese. I graduated with a high school diploma and an associate's degree in June 2025 through dual enrollment in a program called running start. This program has allowed me to take full-time college classes at Cascadia College, and I will be attending the University of Washington as a junior-level freshman this fall quarter with a major in nursing and a possible minor in linguistics. I love hanging out with friends, trying new foods, exploring and traveling with loved ones, walking my dog, hip-hop dance, and anything music! I'm always looking to make new friends and learn new things, reach out!

To prepare for upcoming lessons, I review the material I plan on tutoring the day before to make lesson plans, create steps and goals for the lesson, and plan creative games and such to get the student to not only learn but enjoy the learning process, as I believe that students learn best when they are interested and having fun. For example, a typical lesson plan might include preparing some pages of a workbook, preparing material to learn a specific letter or word. I would choose a theme such as "Christmas" and teach Christmas-related words, having the student read, write, and speak them. I would also have my student listen to songs, or maybe watch a scene of a Korean drama to allow exposure to the Korean they learned in order to remember the material.
