About Rachel
안녕하세요! I’m Rachel/ Dawon(다원), a passionate and slightly quirky(…) Korean tutor!
I lived in Malaysia for 3 years and am currently making my residency in Australia. Previously working as a Korean mentor, I felt fulfillment and joy in helping students to understand my mother tongue and furthermore, our unique culture!
Learning a new language may feel like navigating through a gigantic unfamiliar jungle in complete darkness with a small lamp in your hands; There’s not much you can see and understand, and the vastness overwhelms you. Through our lessons, I will guide you so that your flame can grow bigger and stronger until it can brightly shine the entirety of the beautiful jungle called Korean!

As a fellow learner of foreign languages, I understand how subtle differences in words or nuance can be frustrating and difficult to master. So, I can help to get rid of your confusion by giving detailed explanations and examples about small but definite differences!
I was a Korean mentor for students at language school, and accumulated experience in various types of teaching. So, whether you wish for systematic, step-by-step learning sessions, or just having a casual conversation using practical and authentic Korean phrases, I can assist you! I’m also able to provide study materials tailored for the student (textbooks, Korean shows, K-pop, memes… anything!).
