About Susobhan Laha
Hello! My name is Susobhan Laha, and I am a professional Tabla player and passionate educator with over 15 years of teaching experience.
Music is not just a profession for me; it is a way of life. My journey with the Tabla started at a very young age. I have been blessed to receive rigorous training under the guidance of my father Sri Samaresh Laha and my present guru Prof. Shyamal Basu, where I learned the deep roots and traditional nuances of the Farrukhabad Gharana.
My Qualifications & Achievements:
Sangeet Visharad Extensive training in Indian Classical Music.
Actively performing in various cultural programs, stage shows, and classical music concerts.
Years of experience in teaching students of all age groups, from young children (5+ years) to adults, both in India and abroad.
As a teacher, my philosophy is simple: anyone can learn the Tabla if they are guided with patience and the right technique. Teaching allows me to share the joy of rhythm, and there is nothing more rewarding than watching my students play their first clean 'Dha' or master a complex 'Rela'.
Whether you want to learn Tabla as a hobby, for stress relief, or to pursue it seriously as a classical art form, I am committed to helping you reach your goals.

What you will learn in my classes:
My classes are well-structured and designed according to the student's age, skill level, and interest. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to advance your skills, I am here to guide you step-by-step.
For Beginners:
Understanding the basic structure of Tabla (Dagga and Chanti).
Proper hand posture and finger placement to produce the correct sound.
Learning basic Bols (Ta, Dhin, Dha, Tin) and basic Taals (Teental, Dadra, Kaharwa, Jhaptal).
For Intermediate & Advanced Students:
Advanced Kaidas, Relas, Peskar, Tukdas, and Chakradhars.
Understanding the deep grammar of Indian Classical Music and Laya (speed control).
How to accompany vocal music, instrumental music (Gat), and Ghazals/Bhajans.
My Teaching Approach:
Patient and Personalized: Every student learns at their own pace. I keep my lessons interactive, friendly, and highly encouraging, especially for children.
Study Material: I provide clear PDF notes/notations (Bandish) after every class so that you can practice easily at home.
Online Friendly Setup: I use a high-quality camera and external microphone so you can hear every stroke/bol of the Tabla crystal clearly.
