About Lisakhanya
I am Lisakhanya Mkiva, but to you I'm Lisa. I grew up not knowing how to read and that affected my vocabulary, and I was scared to ask for help because that would've made me look dumb, but as soon as I asked for help I figured that reading is not that bad. What was pulling me back was my pride, so I want to be a teacher because I know there are people like me who want to get help but are afraid to ask for it. I want to create a safe space for them.

Not knowing how to read or pronounce words does not make you dumb, and reaching out to me for assistance makes you brave, and bravery is the most scarce quality you can find in people.
