About Yara
Hi, I’m a guitar tutor with over 12 years of experience and a Bachelor of Contemporary Music, majoring in Guitar. My passion lies not only in playing but also in composing and arranging music for solo guitar and ensembles. I enjoy exploring the depth and color of music, and I love helping others do the same. My teaching style is supportive, engaging, and goal-oriented. I work with school students, hobbyists, and professionals, adjusting each lesson to fit your unique goals and style. Whether you're picking up the guitar again or refining your technique for the stage, I’m here to guide you. I focus on key areas like scales, modes, rhythm training, and songwriting to build strong musical foundations. I also specialize in preparing students for live performance and professional work. Many of my students have grown from intermediate players into confident advanced musicians. I encourage creativity and expression in every session, helping you find your own musical voice. My teaching approach is student-centered, practical, and built around passion for music. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my lessons based on individual goals, skill levels, and preferred genres. Whether you're picking up the guitar for the first time or looking to refine advanced skills, I create a structured yet fun environment to grow.
I focus on foundational techniques like finger placement, chord transitions, and rhythm, while also nurturing creativity through improvisation and songwriting. For beginners, I guide them through fun strumming patterns and popular songs that keep learning exciting. For blues lovers, I break down riffs, licks, and phrasing to help express deeper emotion through the guitar.
Genre flexibility is key to becoming a versatile guitarist, so I introduce classical, jazz, acoustic, electric, and bass styles gradually. I make sure students understand both theory and feeling—because good playing is both technical and expressive. Ear training, tablature reading, and performance confidence are also woven into lessons.
I support students in building their unique voice on the guitar, whether they want to play by the campfire or on stage. My sessions are a blend of skill-building and joy, always encouraging students to explore music in their own way.
