About Inaya
Hi, I’m a guitar tutor with 10 years of experience, blending my academic training from a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music (Guitar) with real world playing across rock, classical, folk, and blues. I love sharing my passion for music with both young learners and adults. My goal is to help you build strong technical skills while growing your musical confidence. I believe learning guitar should be fun and rewarding. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine your technique, I tailor lessons to your unique goals and interests. We’ll explore different genres to find what inspires you most. I focus on developing solid foundations in technique, theory, and expression, so you can play with ease and creativity. I enjoy guiding students through challenges and celebrating their progress. Together, we’ll work on building skills that will last a lifetime. My teaching approach focuses on building strong, ergonomic technique to help you play comfortably and avoid injury. We start with open chords and power chords to build a solid foundation. I emphasise finger dexterity exercises that improve speed and accuracy. Ear training is a key part of my lessons, helping you recognise chords and melodies by sound. We also explore music theory, including Roman Numeral Chord Nomenclature, to deepen your understanding and make learning easier. I tailor lessons to support players who love fingerstyle and worship music, helping them develop the skills needed to excel in these styles. My method blends practical exercises with creative playing. I encourage learning songs you love while also introducing theory and technique in small, manageable steps. Each lesson adapts to your pace and goals. This way, you gain confidence and musical fluency over time. Together, we build your skills to express yourself through guitar with ease and joy. Whether you're preparing for performances or personal growth, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
