About Macy
Hi, I’m Macy! I am a Chemistry BSc graduate from Cardiff University and a current Master’s student in the European Fragrance and Cosmetics programme, specialising in cosmetic and fragrance formulation in the European beauty industry. Alongside my studies, I tutor Chemistry at GCSE, A-Level and higher level, helping students build confidence and develop a clear understanding of the subject. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, spending time with friends, and posting on my cosmetic science blog, My Eau My, where I break down complex chemistry concepts into accessible, everyday explanations. I bring this same clear, structured approach to my lessons, aiming to make Chemistry engaging, manageable, and rewarding for each student.

I have over two years of experience tutoring GCSE and working with A-Level and Undergraduate students in Chemistry through personalised online lessons. I hold a full BSc in Chemistry and am currently completing a Master’s degree in Cosmetic Science, where I have continued to develop advanced chemical knowledge through formulation, analytical science, and applied chemistry. Each lesson is tailored to the individual student, with a strong focus on building confidence, strengthening core understanding, and developing effective exam technique. I regularly use exam-board specific past papers and targeted practice to help students apply concepts clearly and accurately in their assessments.

Macy is a wonderful tutor. She has a knack for explaining complicated concepts in a more understandable way but without being patronising or condescending. She works with you at your own pace, but knows when to give you a challenge that will encourage you to grow and learn even better. And as a person, she is not at all intimidating but rather very welcoming and calming - which I found extremely important when working on Chemistry which was by far my most daunting and difficult subject in school. Overall, she is a great tutor who thoroughly understands how a student could find chemistry challenging and succeeds in making it achievable for them. Macy really encouraged me and empowered me so I felt as confident as I could be going into my exams.
