About Michelle Anne
The most important thing you need to know about me is that I love to travel! I love meeting people from other countries, and learning their languages and their diverse cultures.
My first job after receiving my bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Communications (and minor in International studies) was as a student services coordinator for an English school in La Jolla, California. There, I met students from Brazil, China, Korea, France, Japan, and many more wonderful countries around the world. I assisted students with English homework, resume building, organized local get together and student events, helped process their visas, and practically anything else that the students needed in order to feel situated as students in America.
After my time at the English center, I decided to move to the gorgeous country of Vietnam to continue my teaching career. There, I taught students from elementary school to high school level. My classes ranged from teaching Speech and Debate to academic writing to conversational English to basic English, and much more. My goal as a teacher was for my students to gain confidence with asking questions and speaking English in just a few weeks. I also helped my older students achieve their academic goals, especially those who had the intention of studying abroad and getting accustomed to the writing rigor and standards of US universities.
After spending 3 years as a teacher in Vietnam, I moved back to sunny San Diego to take on a role as an administrator for a healthcare company. Having this leadership experience has equipped me with knowledge about business and career-building.

I meet all students at their level and focus on their personal ESL goals; whether it’s confidence in speaking, learning business English terminology, building a resume, assistance with editing academic writing,or even learning basic English foundations. I believe that students learn best when they are having fun and gaining practical knowledge that they can use in their day-to-day lives. Therefore, my lessons are adjusted to my individual students’ interests and careers/academic journeys. I want my students to feel comfortable when they ask me questions, to feel excited about their following lessons, and most of all - to feel confident when they use English!
