About John
I have over 20 years playing experience, and more than 10 years as a teacher and music instructor. I am patient, energetic, and always keep in mind how difficult it is to start something for the first time. Acoustic guitar is such an amazing and beautiful instrument, but it is one of the most difficult to reach proficiency with. I’ll help you each step of the way to break down and demystify some of the most complex aspects of playing guitar. I’m looking forward to working with you!

I believe in the power of modeling and feedback, and believe that precise guidance and opportunities to practice are the heart of any good lesson. I will model styles, licks, and phrasing often, breaking it down into bite-size chunks, but always immediately translating that back into student practice.
