My lessons would be warm, optimistic, patient and all about finding that little path of curiosity found in every child! From my experience during my education, there are several ways to experience English either as a second language, as an intellectual pursuit, or as an art. The first way to experience English is structurally: how to use it as a tool, how to understand and navigate its nuances, and how it is used to communicate in a plethora of ways! Second, is to teach English intellectually: beyond its structure, what is the theory of English; what is its history; why do certain words act in unexpected ways? Finally, my favorite way to experience English is through art: we would look at poetry, at different ways English promotes art, the depth of poetry through grammar, rhythm, syllables, etc. My lessons would promote all three approaches. My lessons would be engaging, fun, slightly challenging, and unique to each person.
