About Kaushalya
Hello! I am Kaushalya. I'm currently studying Law in the Univeristy of Exeter. I've been teaching Maths and English at a GCSE level and below for the past two years in a tuiton centre called Explore Learning therefore I am well aware of the changes that have recently taken place in the specification. Having tutored in a well known tution centre, I've accumulated a lot of skills such as being approachable, being confident and also ensuring that the student is genuinely taking in the new information rather than just sitting there. I've also taken Mathematics and English Literature at GCSE level and A - level and thoroughly enjoyed both subjects.

Initially, i will start the first session as a 'Taster Session' where i get to know more about the student's strengths and weaknesses by giving them a sample paper for me to asses their ability so that i am aware of the areas in which they need work on and which areas they can develop further in. Additionally, in the first session, I will ask the student about what they are currently doing at school and if they have a specific list of topics that they will go through in the current academic year. After the first session, i'll prepare a timetable in which the parent and the student is fully aware of the structure of the sessions and what i will go through in each session so that if they do have any questions they can consult me. I will contact the parent via email or which ever way they want every 3 weeks updating their child on the full progress but i am open to messaging or emailing after every session if that's what the parent prefers as well. It is important, in my personal experience, to make the learning interative and make sure that the student is at ease with the tutor so that they feel comfortable enough to ask any questions they may have regarding their work and they don't feel too scared to approach them.
