About Louise
I am an experienced Guitar tutor with over 7 years of teaching college students. My goal is to make guitar learning simple, creative, and effective for every student.
My teaching style is friendly and adaptable. I understand that college students have busy schedules, so I design lessons that are flexible, well-structured, and goal-oriented.
I use innovative teaching techniques such as song-based lessons, structured warm-ups, and technique-focused exercises. Students learn chords, strumming, fingerpicking, and rhythm by playing real music. I also use backing tracks to improve timing and confidence.
Music theory is taught in a practical way so students can easily understand how it works on the guitar. I also encourage creative activities like improvisation and basic composition.
I create a supportive learning space where students feel comfortable asking questions. My aim is to help college students build strong guitar skills and enjoy their musical journey.

My teaching approach for Guitar emphasises creativity, mentorship, critical thinking, and accountability. I aim to make learning music exciting, meaningful, and empowering. Lessons encourage improvisation, songwriting, and exploring different styles to help students develop their unique musical voice.
Critical thinking is a key part of my methodology. I guide students to analyse songs, understand chord progressions and scales, and make informed musical decisions. This builds both independence and skill.
I focus on accountability by helping students set clear goals, practise consistently, and reflect on their progress. Constructive feedback and encouragement ensure steady motivation and confidence.
In addition to Guitar, I teach music theory, ear training, composition, and performance techniques. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace, level, and interests, creating a personalised and engaging experience.
My goal is to mentor students into confident, creative, and self-reliant musicians who enjoy making and performing music.
