About Craig
I am a highly accomplished and experienced piano teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. My passion for music started at a young age, and I have devoted my career to helping students of all ages and skill levels reach their full potential.
I hold a degree in popular music and recording and a PGCE in further education, and I have completed extensive training in piano performance and pedagogy. My teaching philosophy focuses on creating a supportive and nurturing learning environment that encourages students to explore their musical abilities and develop their own unique style.
In my lessons, students will learn the fundamental skills of piano playing, including technique, music theory, and sight-reading. They will also have the opportunity to select repertoire that aligns with their interests and goals, whether it be classical, jazz, pop, or any other genre.
My lesson structure is tailored to the individual needs and preferences of each student. For beginners, lessons typically start with an introduction to basic piano skills, including proper hand position and fingering, as well as the fundamentals of music theory. From there, students will progress to playing simple pieces and gradually increasing in difficulty as they become more comfortable with the instrument.
For more advanced students, lessons may focus on more complex repertoire, advanced music theory, and refining their technical skills. In addition, I work with each student to develop their own unique interpretation and expression of the music.
Throughout my career, I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of experience, from beginners to advanced players. I have helped many students prepare for exams, auditions, and performances, and have guided them through the process of selecting and mastering a wide range of repertoire.
In addition to my teaching experience, I am an accomplished pianist and have performed in numerous concerts and recitals. I continue to perform regularly and stay current with the latest trends and developments in the music industry.
