About Rayya
I have been working with younger students for the past 4-5 years with over 300+ hours of experience teaching students ranging from 7-16 in age. I have assisted during group studies (with about 5 students/peers) as well as on a one-to-one basis. My students have furthered their understanding of more difficult topics with me and are then able to readily practice and apply their knowledge - this has helped them to achieve high grades with one of my long-term students passing his 11+ and 13+ exams.
- Group A (Summer 2018): I taught a group of 7-11 year olds at an evening school and took them on for 2 months after those lessons discontinued.
- Student A (2018 - present): I taught this student for both the 11+ and 13+ exams and he passed both for excellent schools, obtaining a Maths scholarship after his Year 8 exams. He is currently relatively ahead in terms of content at school as I am currently teaching him GCSE-level content to help further his understanding.
- Student B (2019 - present): I have taught this student for KS3 English, Maths and Science, allowing her to further her understanding of each subject and improving her grades and set at school.
- Student C (Summer 2021): I taught this student a crash course for 11+ as he only had 2 months before his exam began. I taught him the fundamentals of algebra and helped break down any mistakes with a thorough, step-by-step demonstration of how to work around any challenges.
In terms of unofficial experience, I am the oldest of three with siblings aged 6 and 9, giving me the patience and understanding required to ensure a younger person is comfortable at all times - I love working with children and guiding them through different topics, while discovering . Prior to tutoring, I have also been a helper/assistant on a variety of instances including at a weekend school when I was 15-16 years old.

I'm a fourth year Dentistry student (at King's College London) and am confident in teaching up to and including the following:
- 11+ and 13+
- KS3 English, Maths, Science
- GCSE Maths, Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
I believe in identifying what may be causing a student difficulties, whether it is a difficult concept or a whole topic, and aim to find different ways to address and overcome those challenges. One example of how I adapt to my students is my use of analogies, which allows students to visualise any concepts and ideas from different angles.
I base my lessons around the current syllabuses as well as what a student may be learning at school. I can offer assistance with either finishing homework or getting a student ahead of school, being flexible on what I offer to each individual.
