About Alba
I am currently an undergraduate journalism and anthropology student who has given English group lessons and individual Maths, Physics, Biology and writing lessons. I have worked with kids (6-10) as well as teenagers (13-16) and I am the oldest of five siblings, which has given me great teaching experience.

My lessons are usually accompanied by either a language book (which will be discussed with the alumni) or with personalized slides that I prepare previous to the class and share on Skype or Zoom whilst the lesson is ongoing. I also include as much conversation as possible and like to constantly speak Spanish (if the level allows it).
Going over the topics which the student will have to come out of the class acknowledged, I prepare examples and explanations using vocabulary that will sound more familiar to the student therefore easier to remember. When teaching a language translating is not enough; I like to go over the same "topic" each lesson including grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing altogether. If we are learning about food, for example, I would add to the mandatory vocabulary learning either a written or oral dialogue in a restaurant.
During my particular teaching experience, I have also found out that explaining personal anecdotes on something specific makes students more interested in what you are saying and more willing to remember what they have been taught. What is more, if they are able to create their own memories over a fact that is being learned, they will fully acknowledge it. So active participating and interacting are crucial in my teaching.
