About Sol
I’m a professional musician and passionate music teacher, with a broad performance background. I regularly perform in bands, playing guitar, bass, and singing. Teaching is a core part of my career, and I find it incredibly rewarding to support students at any stage of their musical journey—whether they’re just starting out or striving to achieve specific goals.
Originally from Glasgow, I’m now based in Leeds and have been teaching privately and at institutions for the past 4 years. I enjoy working with students across all genres, though I have a particular passion for teaching folk, rock & pop, and musical theatre.
I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to the individual, ensuring the approach suits their unique needs and goals.

In my lessons, I focus on fostering a positive, enjoyable relationship with music, encouraging a love for learning and a lasting enthusiasm for your instrument or voice. By helping you learn songs that inspire you, I can pinpoint areas for improvement and collaborate with you to create a practice routine that suits your needs.
Whether you're working towards specific goals—such as grades—or simply exploring music for fun, we'll tailor our approach to help you achieve progress. With dedication and consistent practice, you'll see clear improvement in your skills.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with students of all ages and abilities, so everyone is welcome. My lessons typically run for an hour, and are offered on a weekly or bi-weekly basis, depending on what works best for you.
Lessons take place at The Attic, a welcoming community space in the heart of Leeds. It’s a lovely, private venue with excellent facilities, an upright piano, and a café next door for a relaxing break after your lesson.
