About Geetha
I am a master’s graduate based in California with a lifelong passion for Carnatic music. I began learning Carnatic music in 3rd grade under the guidance of my guru, Kameswari Garu. Over the years, my love for music and the violin has only deepened, providing me with a sense of peace and focus in a busy world. Music has become more than just a hobby, it’s a source of calm, inspiration, and personal expression that I cherish and continue to explore every day.

I'm going to teach according to the following steps given below:
Shruthi - The basic pitch or tonal foundation for Carnatic music; helps in establishing the key.
Sarali Swaras - Simple exercises or basic scales to introduce beginners to swaras (notes) and develop voice control.
Janta Swaras - Paired swaras (notes sung in doubles) that strengthen vocal articulation and stability.
Dhatu Swaras - Exercises involving skipping notes, helping with agility and voice modulation.
Hechusthyayi - Higher octave exercises to expand vocal range and improve comfort with high-pitched notes.
Mandhra Sthayi - Lower octave exercises to enhance vocal depth and build stability in lower pitches.
Alankaralu - Rhythmic patterns in various talas (rhythmic cycles) to improve timing and rhythm control.
Geethalu - Simple compositions that introduce melody, basic lyrical understanding, and structure in Carnatic music.
Swarajathi - Structured compositions with swaras and lyrics, a step before learning kritis, focusing on both melody and rhythm.
Varnam - Complex compositions that cover all aspects of a raga, helping with mastery of raga and tala.
Keerthana - Devotional compositions, often the centerpiece of a performance, involving intricate swara and sahitya (lyrics) integration.
