I am a college graduate with years of experience in lab, lecture, and recitation courses in both biology and chemistry. I have taught over 10 labs within the past 2 years and tutored students at a high school and college level.

I first like to get a sense of what the student(s) need help with. If a student has a specific area of concern, I would focus on that. If a student, generally, is not understanding a topic as a whole then I would review it with him/her and then work on questions together. I always like to get feedback from the students on what they have learned at the end of a session. I find that if a student can explain what they have learned, or talk about a topic, then they understand it. I believe creating study tools- whether it’s typing a review, making flash cards, or a way that works for the student will help them to gain the knowledge they are seeking.

I highly recommend Madison on all academic levels. Madison got me through all four years in high school tutoring me not only in biology and chemistry, but math as well. She is extremely thorough in her explanations and Madison really makes sure her students understand concepts, not just repeating an answer back. In addition, Madison is extremely passionate about teaching and really cares about her students doing well!! If it was not for Madison, I would not be the student I am today.
Madison truly cares about her students’ learning. She is intelligent, creative, and adaptive; everything you’d want in a professor. She articulates concepts thoroughly and answers any and all questions. She is extremely talented in sharing her knowledge while being amazingly approachable and relatable. She’s a teacher you want to have, especially with difficult science courses. She in one of the best professors I’ve had.
