About Jermaine
I’m Jermaine, a qualified dental nurse tutor with over 25 years of experience in clinical care, education, and mentoring. I trained at the University Dental Hospital, Cardiff, qualifying in 2001, and have since worked across NHS and private practices, community services, and hospital settings—including as a domiciliary lead and in oral surgery. I hold postgraduate qualifications in Oral Health Education, Radiography, Fluoride Varnish Application, a Diploma in Advanced Counselling, and a Level 3 Award in Education and Training. My teaching is grounded in real-world experience and a deep understanding of the NEBDN Diploma and exam process. I’ve supported hundreds of learners through their dental nursing journey, offering clear, compassionate guidance tailored to individual needs. I also led delivery of the Government’s Supervised Toothbrushing initiative in schools and nurseries, helping thousands of children develop healthy brushing habits—work that’s been featured on BBC Points West and in regional news. I’m passionate about raising standards in dental care through education. My tutoring style is professional, approachable, and focused on building your confidence, competence, and exam success. Outside of work, I enjoy badminton, cooking, family time, and dog walks with my two miniature schnauzers. I recently appeared in my village panto, playing Alexa and Captain Shelly in Rumpelstiltskin.
