Introductory Spanish for Adult Learners - Communicative, comprehensive lessons to prepare you for conversation!

I signed up with Jenna through our Adult Education program. She was a delight to have as an instructor. Full of energy, wisdom, patience and knowledge of the Spanish language. I would recommend her classes to anyone interested in getting a good start on speaking and understanding Spanish.

Amazing Language Teacher – Highly Recommend!

I had a great experience learning with Jenna! From day one, in our beginner class (101), she made the lessons fun, engaging, and super effective by asking each student questions at their level. The classes were organized in a way where there were balanced opportunities to practice speaking, reading, writing, and listening—so I always felt like I was improving in every area.

When it was announced that she was doing another class (102), I was nervous that I wouldn't get a seat, because everyone wanted in! Her lesson planning is incredible.

The second class was just as great. Jenna was consistent and well-organized, her lesson plans were shared at the end of every week and we had homework that kept our brains engaged in the coursework.

The speaking practice especially made a huge difference for me. It can be nerve wracking to speck and make funny sounds in front of strangers, but Jenna's professional demeanor was always encouraging. She often told stories about her own struggles...it helped knowing that even our fluent teacher started somewhere.

If you’re looking for a language teacher who cares, knows how to teach well, and makes learning enjoyable, I can’t recommend Jenna enough!

I have tried to learn Spanish, on and off, for twenty years, and have been singularly unsuccessful. Trying again this summer, I started a beginner group class with Jenna, and her teaching method made something click in my brain so that speaking Spanish suddenly became conceivable instead of impossibly frustrating and confusing. Right away, things I'd struggled with became comprehensible. It was obvious that Jenna put a great deal of thought and effort into preparation, she made every 2-hour class session enjoyable and engaging, and she always e-mailed follow-up materials from each class, including useful videos and websites. She is enthusiastic and funny and able to put students at ease, and so created an excellent atmosphere for learning. I highly recommend her.

I took two classes from Jenna this spring/summer, Spanish 101 and Spanish 102.
Jenna was super prepared for every class and had lots of handouts and web addresses to share.
She was never judgmental about one's progress.
She has a great sense of humor.
The 2-hour class just flew by.
I would totally recommend her as a teacher!
