About Julia
I am a highly successful IB graduate and was a pillar of support for my peers during high school. This natural capacity to support students academically translated into my work as an assistant educator at an extended learning centre. I have two years of experience tutoring grades 1-12 in an array of subjects in Australia where I lived and studied before traveling the world. Now, I specialize my teaching to biology as my strongest subject and long-term passion.
I have a particular skill for promoting understanding of complex systems, teaching new concepts, exam technique and preparation, and assignment support. I work by connecting authentically with students, understanding how each individual thinks and learns so I can tailor my teaching to their cognitive strengths. From there, we work together to find any gaps in understanding of foundational knowledge so that understanding more complex concepts comes naturally with my guidance and support.
My 50 minute session are for high school students of all grades but are particularly valuable for grades 10-12 and those studying the IBDP.
