Riley has this fantastic ability to find a good balance between explaining and giving me time to think through things and come to the answer on my own. Even while trying to guess at the meanings of sentences from the context, I never feel like I am doing it alone. Getting feedback and guidance during this learning adventure is wonderful. Never once have I felt spoken down to or made to feel stupid for not remembering something we have covered previously. People say that Japanese is a difficult language to learn, but I truly believe that having a great teacher makes it infinitely easier.
