About Leonel
At 5 years old the heat of the Super 8 projector was normal at the nape and the living room of the apartment was flooded with colors and soundtrack. I was raised with the luck of many visits to the only cinema in the city. As a teenager I acquired my first camera and pair of glasses as a salary in a photographic development store. When I finished high school I entered the career of Film, Video and TV Director and I knew the incalculable value of teamwork nucleating one of the first layers of Mar del Plata film students. I migrated to Buenos Aires in 2004 without much idea of which side the Obelisk was on and after more than a decade of training in the world of advertising cinema, fiction filmmaking and documentary filmmaking, I became a versatile Head of Locations. I was fortunate to work with international professionals and talents of all kinds and to team up with great Argentine and Latin American technicians and artists who trained me as a professional. Over time I perfected myself as a photographer and audiovisual author. I allowed myself the multifaceted enjoyment: I worked as Assistant Director, Assistant, Art Director, Director of Photography, Cameraman, Foquista, Producer and even Actor. My life was always surrounded by image. With the arrival of 2016, I began my journey as a teacher: I worked jointly with the Professional Training Center of the Union of the Argentine Cinematographic Industry structuring study plans and I worked as a trainer in the DPL Chair (Direction, Production and Locations). I give an audiovisual training for actors / actresses in the EMAD (Metropolitan School of Dramatic Art) in 4th year accompanied by the holder Marcelo Mininno. At the beginning of this same year I challenge myself to present myself to the ARTISTA GESTOR PROGRAM at Matienzo. Synchronicity makes me remain among the chosen ones and reinforces with that opportunity my desire to establish myself as a full-time artist. The pleasure of working on a process of growth towards the multidisciplinary and the collective appears, with no necessary limits between photography, audiovisual, stage, performance and installation: start laboratories and workshops related to Performing and Performing Arts. Under the care of Paula Baró presented on July 24 the performance "NdM" in the framework of the Matienzo FESTIVAL (EN) FORMACION. On August 10, we inaugurated in the space of Matienschön site specific works unified in the exhibition "TRANSSITE" guided by Luz Peuscovich where I include my process called "Mechanical Tester of Infatuation and Reverse Infatuation (currently operating)". I participate as a performer with Guillermo Valarolo in the installation of the collective project "PABELLON FRAZADA" (summoned by Marcos Perearnau) at the Cultural Center of Memory Haroldo Conti during the Night of the Museums. During October I was responsible for the assembly, lighting and technical coordination of the event Science Through the Looking Glass as part of the celebration of the 97th anniversary of the creation of the FIQ (Universidad del Litoral) by Scientific Culture under the direction of Guillermo Valarolo . In November 2016 I present and exhibit at the Centro Cultural Recoleta the dance work "CALMA, ES TU DIA" by Andrea Vázquez as co-author and technical director of the same, for the 8th edition of FASE (Encuentro de arte, ciencia and technology). During the 2017 Performance Biennial the LA RÉALITÉ project is selected in the context of the DADA ANTI-HARMONY that is presented in May at the Recoleta Cultural Center, where I again work with Marcos Perearnau and Guillermo Valarolo directing the technique and as co-author of the work.

The work that I propose is of experience and experiment above all. I prefer to reach the technique and the method through the game and the test always. The collective work enhances any process and the invitation to question the limits (mine and of the students) is constant.
