About Mirianna
In 2019 I set up Audio Tutor, a female-led tutoring company specialising in providing a safe, inclusive environment for audio enthusiasts to learn and develop. Drawing from a rich spectrum of skills, gathered from my ongoing career as a producer and audio editor, my teaching methods are based around current industry-standard practices. Work History: After completing my degree in Music Technology, I began a career in music production. Working as a mentor, project manager, and producer, I have produced commercial releases for artists in and around Bristol. Over the years, I have built a strong network within the industry and have developed connections with many talented individuals. In addition to my work in recording & music production, I also work as a senior audio editor in podcasting and have been involved in numerous projects for high-profile clients and companies, including the BBC. My lessons are tailored towards the individual's needs; you might be producing your own music, or just want to improve your mixing/editing skills. I will guide you through the process of creating captivating chord progressions, beats and melodies, share top-notch production techniques, and teach you the skills to record and produce exceptional mixes. In our sessions, it’s important that you feel like you can be creative, as this is what the subject is all about! I like the first session to be a 30-minute free consultation, this allows us to get to know each other. After our initial session, I will build a structured learning plan that we will discuss together, focusing on mastering the basics and working towards tangible goals.
Having taught many students over the last 8 years, I find that the best way of learning something new is to develop a project in which you can deploy all of the techniques we learn together. This can vary depending on your focus, some examples of student projects include: writing, producing, and mixing a series of songs, scoring a scene from a movie, producing and recording their friend's band etc. I am dedicated to empowering my students to experiment with these projects, and as I have access to a brilliant music studio, I'm yet to find a project that I can't facilitate! Here are some examples of some of the topics I've covered with previous students:
- How to use industry-standard software (Pro Tools & Logic Pro, Ableton Live and other DAWs)
- Production techniques and the theory behind them (looking into compression, EQ, reverb etc and how to use them properly)
- Songwriting Techniques & Music Theory
- Genre-specific Production Techniques
- Mixing and mastering
- Project planning
- Recording techniques
- Music Technology: GCSE, A-Level or University revision/exam preparation
- Building portfolios for University applications
- Composition for film & media

Perfect! Miri is awesome. She is patient and kind and has been a fantastic support in this new chapter of my life. She is very very good at what she does and her creative talent is incredible. She puts me at ease and is clearly very knowledgeable! I have learned so much already. I feel very able to be myself with her and the time we spend together is always over too quickly!
