About Laura
Hey everyone, I'm Laura! I am law student and professional tutor with years of experience helping both adults and children improve their literacy and language skills. I am committed to providing my clients with the highest level of support and guidance to help them achieve their academic goals.
My expertise lies in literacy tutoring for adults, where I have helped many individuals improve their reading, writing, and comprehension skills. I am also experienced in tutoring children in various subjects and have helped many young students develop strong study habits and academic skills that have helped them excel in school.
In addition to my literacy and academic tutoring experience, I have also worked as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, helping newcomers to Canada develop their language skills and integrate into Canadian society. Through my work in this field, I have gained a deep understanding of the challenges that non-native speakers face and how to overcome them.

ESL (English as a Second Language) lessons with me prioritize patience, adaptability, and a genuine relationship with my students. I strive to create a comfortable and supportive learning environment where students feel confident in their ability to learn and communicate in English.
I tailor my teaching style to fit the individual needs and learning styles of each student. I understand that every student has a unique set of strengths and weaknesses when it comes to language learning, and I would strive to adapt my approach accordingly.
My lessons are be designed to be both meaningful and interesting, with a focus on practical language skills that students can use in real-life situations. Whether it's practicing conversational English or learning specific vocabulary related to a student's interests or profession, I strive to make sure that each lesson is relevant and engaging.
Most importantly, I believe that building a genuine relationship with my students is key to creating a successful and effective learning environment. I would make sure to take the time to get to know my students and their individual goals, interests, and challenges. By creating a personal connection with my students, I hope to inspire them to not only improve their English language skills but also to feel confident and empowered in their ability to communicate in a new language.
