About Tom
I'm a qualified English language teacher with almost a decade's experience giving private English and Business English conversation classes. In addition, I've worked in communications as a speechwriter and as a lobbyist. I also speak Dutch, but just like this description, my lessons are 100% in English!

I’m serious about making learning fun and adapt lessons to the unique needs of every student – whether your goal is to perfect your Business English or simply to improve your confidence and conversation skills.
I speak very clearly with a so-called ‘received pronunciation’ accent, which is best described as ‘BBC English’. This is the accent taught in British language schools, and students therefore find it very easy to understand me.
I focus primarily on intermediate and advanced students. A speciality of mine is Business English, so I could help you with activities such as:
• writing a great CV;
• giving presentations;
• preparing for job interviews;
• developing your business writing skills; and
• interacting in business meetings.
As no two students are the same, my conversation classes are always tailored to each student’s individual unique needs and goals.

Tom is een hele fijne, ervaren, geduldige leraar die goed kijkt naar je persoonlijke situatie. Hij is flexibel in zijn tijd, speelt met de taal (zowel woorden leren, als de betekenis van woorden leren als de context begrijpen) en geeft je het vertrouwen dat je nodig hebt om een andere taal te spreken. Ik zou hem absoluut aanbevelen aan anderen.
Ik heb engelse lessen genomen omdat ik professioneler over wilde komen op mijn niuewe internationale werkplek. Tom heeft mij heel goed begeleid met zowel het zakelijke engels als gewone gesprekken. De lessen waren boeiend en heel erg leerzaam. Hij heeft veel inhoudelijke kennis en ik zou hem zeker aanbevelen.
