About Larry
I am a 2100 strength, 35-year-old male chess instructor that has tutored chess for over 5 years. I play in over-the-board tournaments and most recently placed 3rd in the 29th Annual Southern Open and took 1st overall in the Ocala Summer Classic.

My lessons are developed around fundamental motifs. By designing each interaction around a single idea, I can give multiple examples of where the idea may apply. For beginners, we will focus on opening principals, piece development and placement, and exploring the idea of calculation. Intermediate lessons include building a repertoire, recognizing tactical structures, and improving visualization. Advanced lessons include openings-at-depth, middlegame strategies, and improving overall strength.

Takeaways from the lesson were that moves should be strategic - being made for a number of good reasons. Second is that blunders occur at every level of play, and that limiting them is the easiest way to improve quickly.
