About Ismaeel
I am currently studying Mathematics at Imperial College London and have over 2 years of experience tutoring GCSE and A-level students, with a strong academic background including an A* at A-level.
Outside of university, I am an aspiring machine learning engineer and spend time building projects and exploring new ways to apply my maths and coding skills in real-world contexts.
During my own A-levels, I often had to work through difficult topics independently with limited external support. Particularly, I taught myself Further Maths as it was not offered at my sixth form. Because of this, I understand how challenging maths can feel without the right guidance, and I aim to provide the support I once lacked to help students reach their full potential.
I focus on building confidence and creating a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and improving at their own pace.

My lessons are structured and tailored to each student’s level. I begin by assessing their understanding of a topic using targeted questions of varying difficulty, allowing me to quickly identify strengths and areas for improvement.
If a student is confident, we move on to more challenging problems to push for top grades. If they struggle, I break down the underlying concepts into simple, clear steps before building back up.
Once the core understanding is solid, I focus heavily on exam technique using real past-paper questions. This is because exam questions best reflect the style, wording, and level of difficulty students will face, helping them apply their knowledge effectively under exam conditions.
Lessons are typically 1-2 hours and are suitable for GCSE and A-level students of all abilities, whether aiming to pass or achieve top grades.
