About Catalin
I am an Imperial College London engineering graduate, a former teaching assistant at the university, and a Software Engineer. I have started to teach maths as a side job and hobby since my first year.
I have helped tens of students to prepare for IB, GCSE, and A-Levels. At the same time, I helped first-year students to improve their grades in exams as a teaching assistant hired by my university.
During high school, I participated in the most prestigious contest in my country of origin (the Mathematical Olympiad), where I obtained a Bronze medal on the national stage of this contest.
Mathematics has always represented my main interest. Thus, I put a lot of passion when teaching it. I have in-depth math knowledge and advanced problem-solving skills.
I can easily adapt my explanations and guidance to different personalities, learning styles, and needs. My approach is to detect the student's visions and perspectives and adjust my explanations in order to facilitate their understanding.

Lessons are designed for every student's needs and learning styles. Initially, we find together the gaps in math knowledge, afterwards, we fill them and increase the difficulty level in a step-by-step approach. Lessons can cover both theory and math exercises.
Students are encouraged to ask as many questions as possible (there is no bad question). During lessons, I will also explain tricks and how to apply problem-solving techniques.
