About Azhaan
Hello! My name is Azhaan, and I am currently pursuing my MTech at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad.
My academic journey has been strongly connected with mathematics. I cleared competitive exams such as JEE Advanced and continue to work with advanced mathematics in areas like communication systems, signal processing, and machine learning during my research. Through this experience, I have developed a deep appreciation for how powerful mathematical thinking can be.
Alongside my academic work, I have always enjoyed teaching. Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to teach and mentor students, including volunteering with an NGO where I helped school students strengthen their mathematical foundations and build confidence in the subject. Seeing students go from feeling unsure about math to actually enjoying it has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me.
As a teacher, I believe that most students struggle with mathematics not because it is too difficult, but because they are often taught to memorize procedures instead of understanding the ideas behind them. My goal is to help students see the logic and intuition behind concepts so that mathematics starts to make sense rather than feel intimidating.
In my classes, I aim to create a comfortable and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, think independently, and gradually build confidence in solving problems. I try to approach teaching not just as an instructor but also as a mentor who guides students in developing stronger thinking skills.

My teaching approach focuses on helping students develop intuition, logical thinking, and confidence in problem solving.
In my classes, I usually begin by understanding where the student currently stands — what topics they find challenging and how they typically approach problems. This helps me adapt the lesson according to their pace and learning style.
A typical class is structured in three parts. First, we focus on building intuition for the concept. I often use visual explanations, examples from real-life situations, or simple thought experiments to help students understand why a concept works. In the second part of the class, we work through problems together so that students can see how the concept is applied step by step. Finally, I encourage students to try problems independently while guiding them on how to think about the problem rather than simply giving them the answer.
One of the things I try to bring into my teaching is the way mathematical thinking is developed in rigorous academic environments. As someone currently studying at IIT Hyderabad, I try to share with students how problems are approached at a deeper level — breaking them down logically, exploring different methods, and developing patience in problem solving. My goal is that students not only improve their performance in exams but also begin to feel more comfortable and confident with mathematics.
My classes are primarily intended for school students, especially those in Classes 9-12 who want to strengthen their foundations in topics such as calculus, algebra, trigonometry, graphs, and coordinate geometry. These years are extremely important for building mathematical thinking, and I aim to help students develop clarity that will support them in more advanced mathematics later on.
