I always strive to deliver the best knowledge of the subject that I take in hand and try to teach the most complex topics easily and interactively. In my class, I assume everyone is here to learn something new. So, I start from the basics and build the concept first so students get a feel for the topic. My goal is to make concepts crystal clear so that the students can easily solve the toughest of questions. I continuously try to assess the learning of my students by providing them with small tests. With my knowledge and experience, I try to build a vast and comprehensive understanding of the subject. All my students have shown significant exponential growth and improvement.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

The subject, we are going to talk about is Physics. My main interest in this field was developed when I was preparing for JEE. Prior to that, I always liked science as a subject and the wonders it can do. But when I was attending coaching classes for JEE, and studying the motions of different types of objects, then I was able to closely relate Physics to the real world and how the motions of different bodies are governed, and to this date, that part of Physics still remains my most loved. I also really liked solving complex problems in Physics, that required the application of different Mathematical tools, such as differentiation, integration, trigonometry, etc, as a turn, my love for Physics, helped me strengthen my
grasp on Mathematics, and since then, this love has continued, and I try to explain concepts to students so that Physics becomes fun for them, rather than a subject that they will just have to study for examinations.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

When I was in school, I used to help my fellow classmates and also my younger brother and sisters, with their studies, which helped me to realize the kind of satisfaction teaching gives me. For me teaching, makes me feel peaceful and satisfied, I really like to help students who are struggling with their studies, not just academically but also emotionally. I try to give them the kind of support they need at the right time, when they are feeling down, in the hope that they will get some confidence and put in the fight to strengthen their academics, rather than moving like a warrior who has laid down his weapons.
  • How does your work help society?

.In the past times, I have seen a lot of students, who are not able to do well in their school and competitive exams, not because they didn't want to, or didn't have the talent, but just for the lack of a better mentor. I have experienced with a lot of students that if they are not given the right guidance at the right time, then they might take the wrong decision, which affects their future in a not-so-very positive way. So, I have always wanted to help this kind of student, so that they can realize their true potential, and I feel that as a teacher, it is my duty to bring out the best in my students.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

Anand Kumar sir, of Super 30, is my role model, the kind of work he has done for the unprivileged students of the society is highly commendable, and I doubt if anyone ever could match the kind of dedication and sacrifices Anand sir has made for the students in the lower strata of the society. If I can do even 1% of what he has done for the students, then I would consider myself to be a very successful teacher, and this is what has always motivated me to go into teaching.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Apart from teaching, I really like coding and travelling. My interest in coding mainly developed during my years in college, what started as a necessity to get internships and placements, soon became a hobby and I started to enjoy it. I believe coding is an art, and the more you do it, the better it gets, and currently working as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, has helped me to make some earnings out of my hobby. Travelling I feel teaches us a lot of things, I believe everyone should take out some time, to just visit new places and talk to the people there,
it really gives us a new perspective and overall changes us a lot as a person. In the past 2 years, I have been on 6-7 trips with different people and to date, some of them are, some of my closest friends, as travelling really helps you to bond with new people.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

There is this one incident that I would like to share, when I was in my 2nd year of college, I realized that my preparation for the internship season isn't as good as most of my other batchmates, and that made me really lose my confidence, I tried to study, but as soon as I sat, I would just really get lost in the thoughts of what would happen, if I don't get an internship, this happened again and again. Then I consulted of my seniors, at that time in college, and to this date, it remains one of the best pieces of advice I had ever had, he told me "Abhishek, there's no point in worrying about what would happen, we can't control that, but what you can control is what you do now. So give it to you best shot and leave the rest to your fate". Finally, I was able to get an internship on Day 0. So it is one of those advice I still give to a lot of my students, to not worry about the future, but just give it all they have got for whatever they want to achieve.
