About Diego
I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Biology from the College of Creative Studies (2% acceptance rate, you can look it up!). Through CCS, I accelerated my degree and dedicated three years of my undergraduate studies taking upper division Biology courses. Furthermore, I was selected as an NIH MARC Scholar (1 out of 4) and spent over 100 hours doing independent research on cellular stress responses. Following graduation, I was employed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center as a Research Associate in the Regenerative Medicine Department. I spent one year there developing treatments for Alzheimer's Disease using induced pluripotent stem cells and mouse models. I transitioned into teaching to inspire the next generation of scientists, first working at a private college as an instructor and as a high school chemistry teacher at a STEM charter school. I am currently enrolled in an MS Human Genetics and Genomics program to strengthen my abilities as an instructor. I hope to engage and connect with students from all backgrounds.

All sessions will be delivered via zoom for the foreseeable future. Typically, each sessions will be 1 hour for 2 learning objectives (undergraduate). Practice problems included (MCQs and REAL book problems) to help promote mastery. Sessions will be tailored for each student's course.

Perfect! Diego is an excellent tutor. He is incredibly patient, especially considering I ask what feels like ten questions for every problem. He always takes the time to make presentations for my lessons before each session, which shows how much effort he puts in. He explains concepts clearly and makes difficult material much easier to understand. I would definitely recommend him as a tutor.
Perfect! Diego takes a thorough look at the syllabus and the cirriculum and comes prepared for every session. He’s very helpful!

I find it very helpful when Diego offers different ways to understand or visualize concepts. Very patient and doesn’t move on until you’re comfortable with the topic. You can tell they love teaching others and are excited to understand things they may be unsure.
Not only is Diego a very punctual, patient tutor, he also managed to teach me, someone that’s always had trouble with focusing/studying. He’s capable of taking even the most complicated things and breaking them down for anyone to understand, no matter how many times he has to repeat it. Truly, the best tutor ever!
