About Angus
Hi, my name is Angus and I’m a undergraduate student studying science at University of Melbourne. Im studying physics which was a passion I developed throughout high school along with a love for mathematics. However I often found that when I encountered difficult concepts that teachers, due to having to teach large classes, couldn’t always take the time to address my individual issues and so I love tutoring as it gives me the opportunity to help students one on one. Essentially my approach to tutoring is to encourage my students to be honest about their weakness and then work on them from the ground up, practicing questions and skills along the way until they are able to feel confident in their abilities and see the results. One particular way I do this is to go through past tests and isolate errors and then teach them the overarching concepts so my student can apply it to all questions.

Being a recent high school graduate I understand both the pressures of school as well as the curriculum and how to maximise your marks. Having tutored students in the past I understand the need for each student to have a tailored teaching approach and the different levels of ability of each student. Studying physics and maths at university has also given me the skills to understand high school content more holistically and build up students skills and knowledge from the fundamentals up to complex ideas.
