About Kathryn
Playing guitar should feel like an extension of your own body rather than a chore. Most people think they need to practice for hours to see results, but a focused 20 minutes is far more effective. We begin every new partnership with a diagnostic skills check to build the lesson plan around your specific needs. From barre chords and power chords to intricate ear training, I use my degree and my background to keep things interesting.
I make sure we address tuning and maintenance so you are always performance ready. Whether we are discussing music theory or chord transitions, the goal is always better musicality. I am here to ensure you stay patient with yourself as you improve. Let us grab your guitar and get started.

Actually, I spend most of my time balancing my life as a first generation French Canadian musician with a deep love for guitar craft. Having taught 395 students, I understand that many adults and advanced learners want to move beyond basic chords. My own path includes a Bachelor of Music in Guitar from Concordia University which informs how I teach everything from acoustic technique to complex scales. It is fascinating to see how people connect with Québécois folk styles or electric lead guitar parts once the foundation is solid.
I try to bring a playful energy to every session because music should feel like a creative release. I really enjoy helping students find their own voice on the instrument.
