About Matthew
I am full-time academic professor at a major college in North Carolina. I am always teaching these subjects each semester and remain relevant in the fields of theory, ear training, jazz studies, composition, and songwriting. I am also an active performer, usually playing at 10-15 events per month. I am.equally at home in academic environments and in professional/real world experiences.

My theory teaching revolves around teaching traditional western music theory whilst applying to modern music (pop, jazz, rock, country, soul...etc..). I use a variety of examples across multiple genres of music to demonstrate theory techniques, composition, and other musical elements. Lessons can aid in those seeking degrees, for music classes, for professional purposes, or for fun.
