About Pasindu
I am a PhD student at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), specializing in Civil Engineering and Data Science, with a strong background in mathematics and analytical problem-solving. Mathematics is a core part of my academic training and research, and I use it extensively in areas such as calculus, linear algebra, statistics, and modeling.
I enjoy helping students build a solid mathematical foundation and gain confidence in problem solving. Having progressed through both undergraduate and postgraduate studies, I understand where students commonly struggle and how to explain concepts in a clear, intuitive way.
I am patient, supportive, and adaptable, and I tailor my teaching to suit each student’s level, learning style, and academic goals.

My approach to tutoring is student-centred and concept-focused. I believe mathematics becomes much easier once students truly understand the why behind formulas, rather than memorising steps. I start by identifying a student’s current level, learning style, and specific difficulties, and then tailor lessons accordingly.
I use clear explanations, step-by-step problem solving, visual illustrations, and plenty of worked examples. I encourage students to ask questions freely and make mistakes, as this is an important part of learning.
