About Hannah
I have a BA hons in History and Politics and in 2007, qualified as a History teacher, at the University of Wales, Swansea. I have been a Head of Department for 8 years within Peterborough. I have extensive experience in teaching key stages 3, 4 and 5, with subject specialism in the Cold War, Weimar and Nazi Germany, American Political History, Medicine Through Time, The Tudor and Stuart Periods, as well as British Political Reform in the 18th C. I have a great deal of experience in the pastoral system, having tutored both in the Horizontal and Vertical system. I am an Edexcel GCSE History examiner, regularly examining Medicine through time and Germany 1918 - 39 papers.

I am a 35 year old teacher of history to ages 11 - 18. I have taught key stages 3, 4 and 5 since 2008. I have taught in comprehensive schools, with a range of Ofsted reports.
I have a very engaging teaching style, ensuring that all ranges of ability are able to access lesson content and therefore demonstrate progression. It is particularly important that students have sound acquisition of language to understand the conceptual focus of the history curriculum. I plan lessons to suit all types of learning - kinesthetic learning is my forte, moving around the classroom and bringing history to life is very important. I endeavor to model extended writing, and provide model answers and scaffolding to ensure students feel supported in the more challenging aspects of learning history.
