About Samuel
I enjoy sharing my passion for History with students and have found tuition a positive accompaniment to my PhD research. I'm also keen to make tuition a positive, productive process for students. I like to establish a way to measure progress at the beginning of the process so I can praise students at appropriate junctures. I always enjoy seeing students do well and on occasion surpassing their goals/target grades. All tuition sessions are one hour. I am happy to focus more on historical content/chronology/revision or exam technique to suit clients' needs. I tend to begin by building a solid foundation of knowledge/skills and then frequently testing/pushing the boundaries of students' abilities. I also offer marking services to accompany tuition sessions. These range from marking individual essay questions up to and including running full mock exams (please inquire for more information). Most of my experience comes from tutoring students within the 14-21 age range. I have experience tutoring both pre-modern and modern history topics, although I specialise in 20th century modern history and later medieval topics. Older learners are welcome to get in touch.
