About George
I hold a 2.1 MA Hons in History from the University of Edinburgh, where I developed a strong passion for 20th-century history. My academic journey included writing a dissertation on British tourists and their experiences on the Grand Tour, which deepened my understanding of cultural history and historical travel. I’m enthusiastic about sharing this passion with students and helping them explore history in a way that’s both engaging and meaningful. Whether it’s unravelling the complexities of the 20th century or exploring earlier periods, I aim to make history relatable and inspiring, adapting my tutoring to suit each student’s interests and goals.

I’m passionate about making history come alive for my students by connecting past events to the world we live in today. My approach focuses on encouraging critical thinking and helping students understand the “why” behind historical developments—not just memorising dates and facts. I use a mix of storytelling, interactive discussions, and visual aids to make complex topics accessible and engaging. Whether preparing for exams or simply deepening a love for history, I tailor lessons to each student’s pace and interests, creating a supportive environment where curiosity thrives. My goal is to build confidence and inspire a lasting appreciation for the subject!
