About Marianne
Hi I'm Marianne, I have a very eclectic taste in history, I've had experience studying from ancient Egyptian history up to as modern as 1960s British history. As well as Medieval Welsh history, British Civil war, and fall of the Roman empire.
My teaching style is to give an overview of the topic, then having a discussion with the student, and try to make sure the student has a strong knowledge of the topic as a whole.
I try to keep humour throughout my teaching as it keeps the subject light-headed as I feel it makes the subject more fun, therefore, it makes students want to learn and it makes it easier to learn when you feel relaxed.
I make sure students are aware that they can always ask questions to ensure that they are confident with the knowledge on the subject.
I have experience working with students from my time at Bangor University. During the time I studied for my Master's; I was chosen, by a member of the history department faculty, for a role in which mentored a group of first year students throughout a mandatory module in order to teach them key skills they would need throughout their time studying for their history degrees and was given good feedback from the member of staff I was selected by.
