About Connor James
I gained my Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of the Highlands and Islands in 2019. I've since become an accountant but still have a passion for history that's followed me my entire life. I spent most of my time at university studying the history of Scotland and spent my final year specialising in the succession crisis that resulted from the death of Alexander III, ultimately leading to the wars of independence. I also have experience in the Second World War, and to some extent the First World War.
Notable areas of interest for me are The Atlantic slave trade, the history of witchcraft in the UK and history of Germany's Unification.
Ultimately I can get the grasp of a topic quite quickly and can translate the key areas, historical methodologies and critical analysis looked for in essays.

My teaching method is much like how I self taught myself at university. Find out what drives my understanding and then translate the topic in this format.
I've seen this work in situations with younger students who failed to grasp the underlying critical ideas of nationalism and political statesmanship during the unification of Germany. I used simple analogies to bridge the gap between dense (often boring!) information and the required knowledge needed for an exam setting.
