About Sanika
Music has never been something I chose, it has always just been part of who I am.
I grew up in Pune, where I began my journey in Hindustani classical vocals under formal guidance. What started as a learning slowly became the most constant thing in my life. Through sixteen years of riyaz, of early mornings and difficult scales and moments of doubt, music was always there, not just as an art form, but as something that held me together when little else did.
I know what it feels like to turn to a song when words aren't enough. I know what it means to find stillness inside a raga, or to feel something shift in your chest when a sur lands just right. That experience, that feeling of music working on you from the inside, is what I want to give my students. I teach music the way it was given to me, with patience, with intention, and with the genuine belief that everyone deserves to feel at home in it, no matter where they're starting from.

I am a Hindustani classical vocalist with 16+ years of rigorous training and hands-on performance experience across Indian classical, light classical, and Bollywood genres. I have been an active member of music bands and have won competitions at the college and city level.
I teach online via Zoom and Google Meet and welcome complete beginners, adults returning to music, and children being introduced to Indian classical music for the first time. My approach is patient, structured, and deeply rooted in traditional practice, but always made accessible and enjoyable for the student.
Whether you want to learn the basics of Hindustani Music, improve your sur and taal, or simply connect with Indian music more meaningfully, I'd love to help you get there.
