About Ed

I am a qualified and experienced Head of Geography with over 10 years of experience, teaching Geography from Prep and Key Stage 3 through to GCSE, IGCSE, IB and A level; across all major Exam Boards (experience in being Edexcel A Level Examiner). Experienced in online tutoring and face to face tutoring. Previously Head of Geography at Furze Platt Senior School. Provides preparation for 11+, 13+ and School Entrance Examinations, including Scholarship and Common Entrance. In addition, I am a qualified Coach and have helped students gain some clarity on their academic goals and beyond. PGCE Geography, Oxford University (2011). BSc (Hons) Geography, King's College, London (2007). The Oratory School, Reading (1998-2003). ILM Level 7 Qualification in Executive Coaching & Mentoring. Outside of tutoring I love cricket and rugby, visiting the Austrian mountains and taking my dog out for long walks.

About the lesson

Does your child struggle with confidence in Geography? Want to make progress but don't know how? I can help! If your child is finding the subject hard to grasp, I can engage them actively and purposefully to learn the content. Exam writing skills can be tricky. I will develop their essay writing skills (how to plan, structure and answer the questions from past papers). Their NEA (Coursework) can be overwhelming to tackle with little support from schools and managing their own time can be difficult. I can develop their confidence and skills to help them produce a top grade NEA study. I am a highly successful Geography Teacher and Tutor who enjoys getting to know his students and supports them on exam content, skills/technique and coursework. I really like helping them learn in the most impactful way whilst making it engaging
