About Briar
I am a committed violin tutor with 19 years of experience teaching beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. I have successfully taught around 150 students, helping them grow in technique, musical understanding, and confidence. My tutoring style is positive, organized, and student-focused. I believe clear guidance and regular encouragement help students improve faster. I customize lessons based on individual goals while keeping learning structured.
My lessons emphasize posture, bow control, finger technique, intonation, rhythm accuracy, and tone production. I also teach music theory, sight-reading, scales, and ear training to support well-rounded musicianship. For advanced students, I focus on musical expression and performance readiness. One of my strengths is helping students stay motivated and disciplined.
I guide them in creating practical practice routines and tracking progress. I explain concepts clearly and use real musical examples. Along with violin instruction, I can support students with basic music theory and musicianship. My aim is to help students become confident violin players who enjoy learning and performing.

My violin teaching methodology is centered on adaptation, flexibility, collaboration, and a positive learning environment. I believe that learning violin should be enjoyable and stress-free.
I focus on violin basics such as posture, left-hand technique, bowing skills, tuning, tone quality, and rhythm accuracy. I use simple explanations and clear demonstrations to help students understand each concept.
Flexibility allows me to modify lessons when students face challenges. I provide alternative exercises and balance technical practice with enjoyable pieces to maintain motivation.
Collaboration helps students feel involved in their learning journey. I encourage feedback and open discussion. Positivity is maintained by celebrating progress and guiding students with patience.
Along with violin lessons, I also teach basic music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, sight-reading, and performance confidence.
