About Michael
I am a highly experienced and passionate teacher of Chemistry. I am a warm and caring person with a good sense of humour.
I also work very hard at ensuring that ALL students of no matter what ability reach their full potential. This requires an excellent relationship to be built between the student and tutor. I want students to feel that they can ask me any question, five times if necessary - the important thing is that they understand. and are able to make progress.
I always give homework at the end of a lesson to consoluidate work done in session. I feel that this is essential if our professional relationship is to be effective as possible. Detailed feedback will be given on all homeworks.
I want my students to feel supported in their studies at all times and therefore I am quite happy for them to contact me bewteen lessons if they have a question they need help with.

I offer personalised lessons in GCSE and A level Chemistry. I have taught for 42 years, 9 years as a private tutor. Lessons are usually 1hr long (via Zoom) with follow up homework. Detailed feedback is given. Available between lessons for support (via text, etc) and guidance. Having been responsible for the teaching and learning in two large Comprehensive Schools I feel I have a wealth of expereince to bring to my lessons.
I work hard at gaining a students trust and aim to build their confidence and sekf belief through carefully tailored lessons/homeworks. I set high standards for myself and my students.
I am a warm and caring person who loves teaching.
