About Cassel
I am currently a High School Senior and am on track to graduate this spring. During my high school career, I have taken many honors and AP courses, including; Honors Geometry, Advanced Algebra and Trig, Honors Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, and Discreet Math. I consider myself incredibly proficient in all math-related subjects but am most comfortable teaching subjects that I have mastered, which is why I don't teach Calculus (I am currently taking that class). Last year, I worked at my old elementary school and tutored two sixth graders. They both had ADHD and were having trouble focusing in class and completing their homework. I worked with them and their teacher to devise a realistic plan that would allow them to succeed in their math class, as well as next year at Junior high. At the start of February, they were scoring around 15-20 percent on their math tests, and by the end of the school year, they were scoring around 70-85 percent.

I am happy to teach any student who is struggling with understanding math concepts, and I believe that because I am a current student, I have a unique insight into how difficult school can be, especially in a post-pandemic world. Patience is key. I will teach at whatever pace the student needs in order to set them up for success. Furthermore, since I can only meet with each student for a limited amount of time, I will make sure to include additional resources should they want to use those on their own. I strive to make every lesson a solution to a problem.
