About Amelia
I am a four-year senior at Phillips Exeter Academy who has completed AB and BC calculus using Exeter's unique learning method that emphasizes discovery and application.
Outside of math, I am interested in biotechnology, genetics, and environmental science, and plan to major in one or more of these topics in college. Throughout high school, I've pursued several projects in these fields while accelerating math levels and tutoring on the side. I deeply enjoy teaching, and have been a volunteer math tutor and CIT at local nature camps, teaching those in the grades below me about nature and STEM.

After being a student at Exeter for four years, I've learned the importance of conceptual understanding rather than memorization. My goal is for my students to guide students into discovery rather than having them memorize formulas and rules.
If SAT math is something that you need to work on, I'll share my personal test-taking strategies that helped me get a 1540 to help you achieve your dream score!
I've worked with my younger siblings, peers, and neighbors for over three years, teaching English, foreign language, and math. I'm incredibly patient, thoughtful, and dedicated to personalizing my lessons for each student.
